The Tale of the Good Princess and Her Enemy

Once upon a time, in a distant land, there lived a princess who was well-known among the people. Though she possessed a beauty akin to that of a fairy, she forged close friendships with everyone, from the apple sellers on the streets to the shoemakers. She would walk alone on the paths and never feared the people around her.

Her father was a kind-hearted king who never treated his daughter poorly; she was his only child, the beautiful Princess Pearl. One day, the king fell ill with a terrible disease and passed away. After this tragic event, Pearl began to live with her stepmother. However, things started to go badly because her stepmother, wishing to rule the throne herself, was determined to find a husband for Pearl.

The stepmother found a prince and painted Pearl in the worst light, describing her as the most dreadful person in the world. Consequently, the prince became her enemy even before he laid eyes on her, and he agreed to marry her only for the sake of wealth and property.

When the prince arrived at the castle for the wedding, he looked at Pearl with disdain. Even though Pearl did not want to marry, her stepmother relentlessly pressured her, and without a father to protect her, she felt she had no choice but to agree to the marriage.

On the first day of their union, the prince treated Pearl very poorly. Instead of trying to love him, Pearl chose to cry throughout the night. Not knowing what to do, the beautiful girl shared her troubles with all her friends on the path. Armed with the information she gathered, she returned to the castle while the prince was still waking up and caught him off guard to tell him everything as it truly was. She recounted the years of cruelty inflicted upon her by her stepmother and how it had shaped her life.

The prince was in disbelief at what he heard and was shocked. He embraced Pearl, showering her with kisses, promising never to make her sad again. Together, they banished the wicked stepmother and lived happily ever after.
